The Blaffer Art Museum and Big Medium with KADIST San Francisco, and DiverseWorks announce the 2024 Texas Biennial, slated to take place in Houston and across the region during the fall of 2024.
Co-organized by Erika Mei Chua Holum, Ashley DeHoyos Sauder, and Coka Treviño, the three will also co-curate this inaugural event through a collaborative and non-hierarchical approach. Selected through an Open Call and invitations, artist projects, works, and programming will be featured at the Blaffer Art Museum and other host venues in Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast. Artists with deep ties to Texas were invited to apply online through an open call promoted on the event website.
“We’ve been sharing our dreams and intentions with each other for months on what’s possible working from/with the principals of community-building and organizing,” shared Erika. “Between the three of us, we are constantly dreaming about spaces for artists’ work, projects, activations-some large, some small, all significant-for care, hope, and possibility.”
HOW TO SUBMIT: The submission fee is $20, but fee waivers are available for submissions, if needed. Click below for guidelines and the online application (valid only during February 15–May 1, 2024).
