Check out these FUN events where I’ll be this weekend — in and outside of the Arts District Downtown Los Angeles! MEET ME THERE!
SAT 4/23 and SUN 4/24 @ 12-6pm :: ARTISAN POP-UP SHOP at AS OF NOW STORE at A+ D Architecture Museum :: 900 E. 4th St., Los Angeles 90013 Don’t miss this one-weekend-only event at As of Now Store, a curated boutique tucked inside the museum. In addition to their regular selection of unique home goods, jewelry, accessories and gift items, there will be an amazing selection of one-of-a-kind handmade creations for sale by ceramist Beth Katz of Mt. Washington Pottery and textile artist Cathy Callahan! Bubbles and smiles served all weekend long, but be sure to stop by on Sat 4/23 @ 2-6pm to meet the two master artisans. Details at www.asofnowstore.com
TIP: When you are in the neighborhood, be sure to reserve time to tour the museum and walk down the street to visit Cleveland Art, Arts District Co-Op, Shreebs Coffee, Dane Capo Art Pop-Up, Deja Vita HQ, and more!
SAT 4/23/16 @ 11am to 6pm :: CLOSING SALE at BLACK MILK CLOTHING CONCEPT STORE @ 2020 E. 7th St, Los Angeles 90021 While it’s the end of the retail storefront in the Arts District, it is not the end of this popular clothing line in the United States. Grab huge discounts off everything – including gym wear and museum items. RSVP on FB
SUN 4/24/16 @ 10:30am to 1:00pm :: VNTGPOP FLOWER FIESTA WORKSHOP at The Container Yard @ 800 E. 4th St., Los Angeles 90013 Come mix + mingle at this gardening workshop curated by the purveyors of VNTGPOP Oasis. $45 workshop fee includes one pot, floral cutters, gardening gloves, reusable burlap bag, spray bottle and succulents plus complimentary mimosas and refreshments by Cafe 86 AND a tour of Fishy Farms, the aquaponic fish farm container within The Container Yard. And hey, since it’s not always open to the public, it’s a good chance to tour this creative compound adorned inside and out with murals by top street artists, national and international. RSVP on FB
SUN 4/24/16 @ 4-7pm :: ART SHOW & WAREHOUSE SALE at Rude Chix @ 4720 San Fernando Rd., Unit A, Glendale, CA 91204 Yep, I know this event is NOT in the Arts District, but it will feature my Arts District photography, so it counts! So there … it’s MY blog, and I’ll do what I want 🙂 … Seriously, join me at this cool venue where tattoo-inspired and alternative apparel is made and sold by Queen Rude, aka Sherry Mattson. It will be a cool celebration during which you can meet the L.A. Derby Dolls, and check out artwork by Joey Feldman, Emmeric Konrad, and Ninoska Arte in addition to my work. There will be stuff to clean you up by The Dirty Soap Co., and tunes spun by DJ Scott Whitaker. So make plans to go already and hopefully, I’ll see you there!
