The first of its kind in the Arts District and even Downtown Los Angeles, an incubator-style, shared-use commercial kitchen called Crafted Kitchen is under construction at 672 S. Santa Fe Avenue in the Arts District. Slated to open later this summer, owner and founder Cindi Thompson is now hosting private preview tours for media, culinary bloggers, and event planners interested in learning more about LA’s new home for culinary entrepreneurs.
“For food entrepreneurs who are hungry for success, the road has many hurdles,” said Thompson, a former small-food business owner herself, who founded Crafted Kitchen in order to provide others access to quality, affordable commercial kitchens and resources. “We are small-food business advocates with a passion for supporting local culinary artisans. Crafted Kitchen is the low-cost, low-risk, full-service culinary flex-space that supports artisans as they create, produce, and expand their businesses.”
Housed in a fully restored 95-year-old warehouse, the 7,982-sq-ft. state-of-the-art facility offers a shared-use commercial kitchen, four private kitchens, and a test kitchen with access to an outdoor 1,360-sq-ft patio. By leveraging industry resources, regulatory and licensing experience, bulk purchasing power and culinary expertise, Crafted Kitchen also provides tools, resources, and services to help food entrepreneurs accelerate business growth, giving them what they need to make their culinary dreams a reality.
With the culinary boom in Downtown Los Angeles and beyond, Crafted Kitchen is poised to meet the demand for temporary and long-term on-site kitchen spaces for chefs and restaurant investors interested in testing and exploring menu ideas. Its test kitchen is also an ideal special event venue, which can be rented for culinary classes, cooking parties, corporate events, pop-up dinners, and even filming.

ABOUT CINDI THOMPSON
Cindi created Crafted Kitchen when she hit a roadblock in growing her own small-food business – a scarcity of quality, affordable commercial kitchens. Determined to provide fellow culinary entrepreneurs access to the quality space and resources she needed in order to grow and thrive, she founded Crafted Kitchen. Prior to pursuing her passion for the culinary arts, Cindi enjoyed a long career in the financial services industry. Now living in the Arts District, she is a lifelong resident of California.
