I am MUSED.
ON VIEW THRU AUGUST 12, 2023, three exhibitions, one space! Traces features a four-person show with artists Peter Broz, Angel Castelán, Kevin Lopez, and Charles VanMeter. An Almost Rainbow by Sarah DePetris is an exhibition of multi-dimensional drawings about the almost and not-yet-made. Michelle Thomas Richardson’s (store)Front transforms a space with the artist’s installation reminiscent of television and radio window displays popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
Front BOX: Through paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Peter Broz, Angel Castelán, Kevin Lopez, and Charles VanMeter, Traces examines both external and internal forces that influence the human experience and what we make of them.
Back BOX: Sarah DePetris’ site-responsive installation — An Almost Rainbow — features oil paintings, works on paper, and sculptural forms inspired by piles of rubble and construction debris. With recurring imagery of rainbows, stones, and ghosts, the drawings reimagine their subjects as icons and objects of potential.
Window BOX: Drawing parallels to present-day, Michelle Thomas Richardson’s installation responds to the 24-hour news cycle and the cyclical nature of history as portrayed through the media.
These three exhibitions at BOX13 Art Space are open to the public thru August 12, 2023, ton Saturdays 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM or by appointment (request via email at box13artspace@gmail.com).
