ON VIEW THRU JANUARY 6, 2024: “Tree of Life” showcases sculptural objects carved from the African blackwood tree in the Makonde tradition by Tanzania-based artists Joseph Singombe and Pius Mtembe; ornamental turning by the late Texas artist James Harris; and woodwind instruments created by different methods. “Max Adrian | RIPSTOP” features patchwork textiles and volumetric inflatable sculptures by this Ohio-based artist who draws from legacies of queer fiber art and theory, and transports viewers into a realm of artifice and desire.
