FRIDAY, MAY 17, 2024 + SATURDAY, MAY 18, 2024: The MFA Shop at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston hosts a two-day trunk show with Raw Mango and a talk with designer Sanjay Garg, founder of this Indian design house.

TRUNK SHOW: Friday, May 17, 2024 and Saturday, May 18, 2024 (11:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily): Discover and shop the curated selection of saris, textiles, and garments. Raw Mango draws from the colors, philosophies, and cultures of India to innovate upon centuries-old skills, defining a new aesthetic vocabulary.

DESIGNER TALK: Saturday, May 18, 2024 (10:00 AM to 11:00 AM): Sanjay Garg discusses his creative practice and cultural influences from around the world with vintage sari collector and drape artist Amanpreet Birgisson. The talk takes place in MFAH’s American General Conference Room on the mezzanine level of the Audrey Jones Beck Building (5601 Main St., Houston, TX 77005).

ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Raised in the village of Mubarikpur, Rajasthan, Sanjay Garg developed his unique language in 2008 while studying textile design in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Garg innovated with yarn and weaving processes to create a new visual vocabulary that still defines Chanderi today. Always informed by India, he constantly engages with established traditions to imagine new possibilities.
