ON VIEW: Join artist and Rice CERCL Artist-in-Residence Gabriel Martinez for the opening of the latest installation in the Moody Project Wall series! Titled Resolution, Martinez’s painted wall mural is displayed in the Flex Studio inside of the Moody Center for the Arts. It is based on an image from the Aztec manuscript Codex Borgia (ca. 1500).

Created in collaboration with Rice students and the community, in honor of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, Martinez’s collaborative work explores questions of ownership and circulation related to this cultural object.

In addition to complimentary beverages, guests at this opening reception will also enjoy tunes provided by DJ MLE, whose playlist is shaped by Afro-Caribbean and Afro-diasporic sounds drawn from her Panamanian heritage and upbringing in Texas.
