ART OPENING: “Tomorrow’s Unknown | Wayne Gilbert”

July 8 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

ON VIEW THRU AUGUST 5, 2023: Wayne Gilbert’s “Tomorrow’s Unknown” exhibition features artworks that tackle the artist’s political and social issues with an extra punch. He adds unclaimed funerary ashes mixed with a gel medium and spreads them with a palette knife into forms and positions according to his vision. Gilbert says, “Most people would not want to hang these paintings in their living rooms”, which he is fine with as he wants to evoke conversation about them and their message.

As the Russian-American painter Boris Lurie, who is known for his controversial work exclaimed, “Courage is the secret ingredient of all art.”

Redbud Arts Center is open to the public on Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM or by appointment (email redbudgallerydirector@gmail.com).
