NOVEMBER 18, 2023 @ 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM: An extension of the artist’s “Line of Gravity” series, this durational participatory sound performance titled “SHIFT” employs self-reflection through photography, performance and video on the subject of domestic violence. Based on a series of personal experiences from the summer of 2021, the artist seeks to poetically portray through repetition, gesture and actions, both the internal and external struggles one faces on the way to reclaiming a self-lost to abuse.

“SHIFT” intends to invite the audience to share in the burden of these experiences by lending their voices to the artist’s story. Shifting the narrative from a first-person account to a collective conversation, it is intended to create opportunities for empathy, understanding and ultimately, a reclamation of one’s own power.
