WED 6/12 @ 6:30 PM Walk (walkers meet up at The Pie Hole on 714 Traction Ave.) • 7:00 PM Ride (cyclists meet up at Eat.Drink.Americano on 923 E. 3rd St.) • 8:30 PM Post-Event Social (walkers and cyclists convene afterwards this week at XLanes): Join us for our weekly neighborhood R.A.D.D. Bike & Walk Social! Plans include visiting the studios of well-known street artist Marquis Lewis aka RETNA and veteran photographer Don Miller. Afterwards, join other neighbors bowling at the DTLA Rendezvous event at XLanes @ 333 S. Alameda St., 3rd Fl. in Little Tokyo Galleria Mall.
THU 6/13 @ 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM: Artists on Tap exhibition features 16 artists from the Arts District: Matt Aston, Matt Blackwell, Jaime Colindres, Cosmo, Yuri Elvin, Scott Forrest, Calder Greenwood, Minas Halaj, Michael Hayden, David Hollen, Nicholas Knudson, Emmeric Konrad, Colette Miller, Terrell Moore, J.W. THU 6/13 @ 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM: Highland Avenue: Works by Bill Barminski showcases the visually colorful, ironic and graphically strong paintings by Bill Barminski, a self-taught artist whose work extends across a broad range of mediums. FRI 6/14 @ 8:00 PM Reception • 8:30 PM Screening: “Lisa Adams: As it Appears to Be” captures the life and work of a Downtown artist. This 53-minute documentary by Juri Koll also includes Peter Frank, Shana Nys Dambrot, and Clyde Beswick. Seating limited to 50 attendees. One-night-only screening at Cero Space @ 676 S. SAT 6/15 @ 5:00 PM to 12 midnight: The ever-popular FREE Chinatown Summer Nights starts this week and not a moment too soon! SUN 6/16 @ 3:00 PM: Go Metro on the Gold Line from our Little Tokyo/Arts District station (depart no later than 2:00 PM) and join artist John O’Brien for an “Insight Talk” and walkthrough of his museum exhibition Meander. Afterwards, gain insight into his process during a short meander led by the artist to nearby sites in Pasadena to see public artworks and other unnoticed, but notable urban features.
